Run a Live Game

Start Game Mode, share the lineup with parents, and keep the at-bat in view.

Game Mode is how you run the card during the game. Parents follow along on the public lineup page — the same page they already use to open a published lineup.

Schedule the game

When you create or edit a lineup, set the game day details along with the name and opponent:

  • Game Date and Game Time — shown on the public lineup. The time picker is 12-hour.
  • Timezone — Eastern, Central, Mountain, Arizona, Pacific, Alaska, or Hawaii. The public page uses this zone for the start time.
  • Time Limit — optional. Pick 1h, 1h 15m, 1h 30m, 1h 45m, or 2h, type your own minutes, or choose None. The clock counts from the official start, which is stamped when you press Start game.
  • Published — parents can open the lineup only when this is on and the roster is published too.

If a start time is set, the public lineup shows a First pitch in countdown during the day of the game.

Open Game Mode

  1. Open the lineup from Lineups.
  2. Click Game Mode in the top bar. On a phone it is the radio icon next to the menu, with the accessible name Game Mode.
  3. Click Exit when you are done. Game Mode is still available from the lineup menu.

Next batterAdvances at bat and on deck through the batting order
InningSteps the inning up or down. The inning cannot go below 1
End gameMarks the game final and stops the live clock

Reset gameClears the live game so you can start over

Tap a player in the lineup while the game is live:

  • Set at bat jumps the card to that batter.
  • Put in game records a substitute in that batting spot. Put back in game on the starter undoes it. This is a record of who is in — it does not block the change.
  • Make current pitcher marks the pitcher or a bullpen arm as the one on the mound.

Share the live lineup

In Game Mode, click Share live link.

  • On a phone, the share sheet opens so you can text the link to a parent.
  • Otherwise the link is copied, and a Link copied toast confirms it.

The link opens the public lineup. On lineupcard.io that is https://yoursubdomain.lineupcard.io/lineups/….

Parents can only open a published lineup on a published roster. If either one is still a draft, Game Mode shows that note instead of copying a link that would not open.

How parents find a live game

On the public team home and the Lineups list, a game in progress shows a LIVE badge. A featured live game shows LIVE in place of Today or Next game. A scheduled game does not show the badge.

The badge updates while the page is open. Parents do not need an account.

What parents see on the lineup

While the game is live, the public lineup shows:

  • A LIVE banner with elapsed time, the current inning, and time left when a time limit is set. Time left turns to a warning near the end of the limit, then Time limit reached.
  • The banner stays pinned under the team header while they scroll.
  • AT BAT and ON DECK on the matching players. When you press Next batter, their page moves to the new at-bat row.
  • FINAL and the game time after you end the game.
