Manage Staff
Adding Staff
Staff are managed per roster. To add a staff member with dashboard access:
- Open a roster and navigate to the Staff tab.
- Click Add Staff.
- Search for their Lineup Card account by name or email and select them.
- Enter their role (e.g.
Head Coach,Assistant Coach,Trainer). - Click Save.
- Copy the team site link and send it to them.
Staff added without a linked account appear on the roster only — they will not see the team under Teams in their dashboard until they are linked to an account.
Preview the team site (Teams list)
Owning a roster under Rosters is not the same as membership under Teams. To see a team in the Teams list in the sidebar and on the Dashboard — and use that entry to open and preview the published (or draft) team site — add yourself as a staff member on that roster.
- Open the roster’s Staff tab and click Add Staff.
- Search existing users for your name or email, then select your account.
- Save. The roster appears under Teams right away.
If you do not want your name on the public team site Staff page, turn off Show on team site when you add or edit yourself. You keep dashboard access and the Teams preview entry; visitors just will not see you listed with coaching staff.
Show on team site
When adding or editing a staff member, the Show on team site toggle controls whether they appear on the team site Staff page (/roster/{subdomain}/staff).
- On (default): The person is listed on the public and member team site Staff pages, like a coach or trainer.
- Off: The person is hidden from the team site Staff pages but can still be linked to an account for dashboard access under Teams. Use this for webmasters, team managers, or parent coordinators who help run the roster but should not appear alongside coaching staff — including when you add yourself only to preview the site.
Email and phone are shown on the internal team site (/teams/...) for staff and linked players. They are never shown on the public team site (/roster/...).
The roster-level Show staff setting still controls whether the Staff tab appears on the team site at all.
Sharing the team site
After you add staff or link a player to an account, copy the team site link (/roster/{subdomain}) and share it with them. When they log in, the roster appears under Teams in the dashboard sidebar.
The roster must be published before the public team site loads for visitors. Staff (and linked players) can still open the team site from Teams to preview while it is in draft.
Staff Roles
The role field is free text — use whatever titles fit your organization. Common examples:
- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Pitching Coach
- Athletic Trainer
- Team Manager
- Volunteer
Removing Staff
Open the staff member's record and click Remove. This only removes them from this roster — it does not affect any other roster.
Staff vs. Players
Staff and players are tracked separately within a roster. Staff members do not appear in lineups. Linked players appear under Teams the same way as staff when their account is connected to a roster player.
